Description
Passover Granola, Charoset, Popovers, and Chocolate Cake with Walnuts. Made these yesterday, plus hard boiled eggs, and a roasted one. I always love the granola, which has matzo farfel (matzo chunks, basically), honey, raisins, and walnuts. It's like candy. Our charoset is an apple, walnut, grape juice (instead of wine- I can't drink wine), and a pinch of cinnamon mixture. The popovers look like they came out well again. It just uses matzo meal, margarine, a pinch of salt, and eggs. I decided to do something different as a dessert this year. They called it Tried and True Chocolate Cake. It calls for chopped up nuts, and I added walnuts for that. The batter was kind of similar to brownie batter. It looks kind of like a big brownie afterwards, too. Had an interesting combo of things. (Including 8 eggs! 
Probably more than the torte had. It's heavy too.) Last year I did an almond torte. I love chocolate, so maybe this'll be good, too.
